Lancaster County Nursery opens home decor store next door
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A place usually with flowers, shrubs, and trees now sells local decor. The shop is called The Refuge, which is connected to Landmark Nursery. Both locations are located in Eagle, Nebraska, off N. 2nd Road.
Landmark Nursery Sales Director Mark Charipar said: “We see a lot of happy faces and that’s what we’re looking for.”
Charipar bought the historic nursery in 2015. He thought it would just be a landscaping business.
“The next thing we know was to see that the supply issues have been acquiring more and more nursery material and people are stopping to see if they can buy it from us and it is transforming. in this, ”Charipar said.
To find more creative ways to get people to the door, he and his retail buyer, Christy Taylor, wanted to set up a store selling indoor and outdoor decorations.
Taylor said, “I’m looking for things that are right; you can’t see anywhere else. “
The store offers watering cans, hanging flower pots and artwork made both nationally and locally.
Since the Refuge opened last week, things have become busier and busier.
“It was a crazy race, but I enjoyed every minute of it,” Taylor said.
As summer approaches, people can start working on their outdoor projects.
Charipar said, “They can build something in their own backyard and have their own little shrine in their own backyard.”
